I originally saw this slide show from the CDC on Paul Levy’s blog. Just click through the slides using the controller on the bottom left. Not only is this a dramatic illustration of an ongoing health issue in the US, it is also an excellent example of the use of clean graphics to tell a compelling story.
I can only imagine how bad the map looks from 2001 to the present.
