An interesting story in the Oregon News about what appears to be a revenge scenario using Craigslist. The particulars are that an ad was placed on Craigslist saying that a local man was forced to move suddenly, and that all his possessions were free for the taking. Suffice it to say, the man in question, who was out of town at the time, was surprised when he received a call from someone enquiring about his horse. Upon returning to his home…well…read for yourself. Here’s my favorite quote:
Once home he was greeted by close to 30 people rummaging through his barn and front porch.
The trespassers, armed with printouts of the ad, tried to brush him off. “They honestly thought that because it appeared on the Internet it was true,” Salisbury said. “It boggles the mind.”
So just remember, everything you read here is true. And if you doubt it, print it out.
