I like wine. I like wine a lot. I got started enjoying wines relatively late in life, and so I don’t have a lot of old wines in my cellar. While in principle I don’t have any objection to spending some bucks on a good bottle of wine, in practice a good proportion of my wines are in my favorite $10 sweet spot.
Here’s a quick and dirty list of red wines that I have had that are both affordable and exceptional. I’ll post some white wines later.

While it isn’t necessary that an excellent visit with friends and/or relatives has at some point a rendezvous with exceptional food, it certainly doesn’t hurt. We’ve all heard the facile distinction between those that eat to live and those and live to eat. This false dichotomy couldn’t be more wrong.
Ok, here’s more evidence that I am the last person in the world to become aware of certain viral videos. Got this from my wife the other day. That right, my wife. So now she’s more clued in that I am. Drat. Still, this is pretty special.
